Nong Khai

I went to the grocery store here the other day. I got some exotic fruit. Here is some Dragon fruit that I ate for dinner the other night. It is very very good. Like honey dew and kiwi mixed.

Everything is going great here. I am getting settled here in Nong Khai. Isara is great. I got a little condo on the river which is nice. It has air conditioning and hot water which is a dream. I remember how I use to declare that cold showers were better. Not having the option has made me see different. Here is a picture from my balcony. I stay on the 8th floor.

I cycled to Vientiane, Laos last week. It was a 60km ride round trip. I cycled up and stayed for a few days then rode back to Nong Khai. I got to ride my bike across the friendship bridge which was pretty cool and very dangerous due to having no shoulders and speeding buses and work trucks.

Here is a short video clip from the isara. It was children's day. It is the same as father's or mother's day. We played games and ate snacks. It was pretty much awesome.

Visa

I went on a visa run to Laos the other day. Crossing the border from Thailand into Laos you can tell an instant difference. They drive on the right side of the road like back home. I can't wait to go back. The country is beautiful and very easy going. New York times wrote a story about it, you can google it. I miss everybody back home. I start to teach computers this week in Nong Khai. I sat and observed my first class today. I start teaching tomorrow.

Here is some footage that was on the cutting room floor, I just put it all together. Some nice thai girl gave me a ride then took me to dinner. Only in Thailand would this happen. I love this country. I used this video to test out the black and white to color effect.
